Name: Harvey Lee Hill, Jr.
Harvey Lee Hill, Jr., age 67, of Lumber City died Friday, February 12, 2010 at his residence.
Mr. Hill was born October 23, 1942 in Lake City, Florida to the late Harvey Lee Hill, Sr. and the late Gwendolyn Moody Hodge. He grew up in the Avon Park/Sebring, Florida area and resided in Lumber City, Georgia since 1986. He devoted his entire career to protecting and preserving our natural resources as a Marine Biologist. He was employed with the U. S. Fish & Wildlife Service and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and was a Veteran of the United States Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Hill of Lumber City; daughter, Velvet Baxley of Springhill, FL; sons, Kevin Hill of Sebring, FL, Steve Harder of Baxley, and Patrick Harder of Midland, MI; grandchildren, Tonna Holmes of Sebring, FL, Kasey Hill of Okeechobee, FL; and 5 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 20th at 2:00 PM at the residence, 164 Shadydale Road Lumber City, GA 31549.
