Name: Georgia Moody Ray
Georgia Lou Moody Ray, 88, of Hazlehurst died Sunday, January 31st in the Lumber City Nursing Home.
Mrs. Moody was born May 25, 1921 in Telfair Co. to the late George L. & Eva Ray McEachern. She was the widow of James William “J. W.” Moody & William Henry Ray and was of the Baptist Faith. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Georgia Teachers College (now, Georgia Southern University) and taught for 36 years before her retirement from the Jeff Davis County School System, having taught 5th grade Math for a number of years. She was a member of the Retired Teachers association. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Aubrey Lee Stone.
Survivors include her daughter, Judith Carol Moody of Cleveland; Sons, Robert Earl Moody of Hazlehurst & Dr. John Milton Moody of Vidalia; Niece, Bonnie Lee Green of McRae; Special Cousin, Eunice Clements of Hazlehurst; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces & nephews.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, February 2nd at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with Rev. Royce Hulett officiating. Entombment will follow in Palms Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 1st from 6-8pm at the funeral home
The family will assemble at the residence.
