Name: Emma Lee Sandiford
Emma Lee Sandiford, age 82, of 510 Bill Quarterman Road, Hazlehurst died Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Jeff Davis Hospital after a brief illness.
Mrs. Sandiford was born June 10, 1927 to the late John T. Dean and the late Mary Alma Horton Dean. She was a member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church and was an excellent caregiver for several years. She was preceded in death by a grandson Brent Miles, sister, Winnifred Johnson and brother, Clell Dean.
Survivors include her daughter and Son in law, Solita and Herschel Miles of Hazlehurst; granddaughter, Sabrena and Breanna Waldon of Hazlehurst, Cherie Miles Carey and Denise Miles Bixler, grandson Herk Miles of Hazlehurst; great grandchildren , Jackson Bixler, Laurel Bixler, Garrison Miles, Jenna Lee Miles, Brett Miles and Dawson Carey; sister, Maxine Ray of Kathleen, Ga.
Funeral Services were held Sunday, January 3rd at 2pm at Philadelphia United Methodist Church with Rev. David Griffin officiating. Interment followed in the Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Jimmie Ryles, Larry Parlor, Herk Miles, Kelvin Manning, Alton Walters, & John Mask.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home.
