ANNOUNCES THE DEATH AND FUNERAL SERVICE OF …
Robert E. Newham, age 72, of 1326-B Lafayette St., Americus, died Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center of Americus, after an extended illness.
Mr. Newham was born March 8, 1937 to the late Eugene Newham and the late Annie Mae McKinney Newham. He was employed by Carevell Boats as a material cutter and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie L. Cox Newham of Americus; sons, Curtis Newham of Americus and Alan Newham of Savannah; step-sons, Glenn Irvin Cox Jr. of Americus and Tony Cox of Leslie Ga.; step-daughters, Marie Cox and Debbie Cape of Americus and Lisa Wright of Dixion, Tenn.; sisters, Mildred Schleucher of Timmonsville, SC and Louise Mitchell of Hazlehurst; brother, Franklin Newham of Florence, SC.; grandchildren, Seth Beasley of Hazlehurst and Sean Newham of Savannah; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 8th at 11:00am from the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with Rev. Justin McLellan and Kenny White officiating. Interment will follow in the Hazlehurst City Cemetery.
The family will assemble at the home of his sister, Louise Mitchell, 11303 Zoar Rd.
Funeral arrangements for Robert Eldridge Newham, age 72, of Americus are under the direction of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home.
