Name: William E. (Bill) Pittman
William E. ‘Bill’ Pittman, age 86, of 300 Burketts Ferry Road Hazlehurst, died Sunday, December 6, 2009 in Community Hospice of Vidalia.
Mr. Pittman was born August 6, 1923 in Telfair Co. to the late Ira Pittman and the late Lure Baughcom Pittman. He was a retired Timber Producer and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force having served in World War II and Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Hester Pittman.
Survivors include two Daughters and Son-in-Law, Belinda and Charles Rigdon of Denton and Elaine and Dick Kelly of Eastman. Grandchildren, Shane (Holly) Rigdon, Karly (Patrick) Drennan, Amanda Rigdon and Kaz Kelly; Great grandchildren, Madison Carelock, Nicole Rigdon, Isabella Drennan and Jack Drennan and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 9th at 2:00PM from the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with Bro. Ray Hester officiating. Interment will follow in McDuffie Cemetery in Telfair Co. with military honors.
The family will assemble at the residence, 300 Burketts Ferry Rd.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home.
