Name: Mary B. Glosson
Mary B. Glosson, age 90, formerly of Waycross, died Tuesday, December 1, 2009.
Mrs. Glosson was born September 11, 1919 in Sparta, GA to the late William Watson Butts and the late Lyder Will Brantley Butts. She resided in Ware Co. for 66 years and in Hazlehurst for the past 8 years. She was the widow of W. B. Glosson, Sr. and was a member of First Baptist Church of Waycross. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Valdosta State University and taught with the Ware Co. School System for 20 years. She was a member of the Retired Educators and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also preceded in death by grandchildren, Kathy King, Walt Glosson, and Katie Glosson; sisters, Marvalene Crosby and Ruth Riggins; and brother, W.C. Butts.
Survivors include her daughters, Glenda Jean King of Lilburn, Martha Anne Cohron and Mary Kaye Glosson both of Waycross; sons, Dr. Ben & Vian Glosson of Hazlehurst and Rev. Billy & Betty Glosson of Dublin; 15 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, December 4, 2009 from 9-11 AM at Southside Baptist Church in Hazlehurst.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 4, 2009 at 11:00 AM from Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Glosson and Dr. Ben Glosson officiating.
Interment will be held Friday at 3:00 PM from Oakland Cemetery in Waycross.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Southside Mission Fund (P.O. Box 769 Hazlehurst, GA 31539) or to First Christian Church of Dublin (P.O. Box 1002 Dublin, GA 31040).
The family will assemble at the home of Ben & Vian Glosson, 66 Burketts Ferry Rd. Hazlehurst.
Funeral arrangements for Mary B. Glosson, age 90, of Hazlehurst are under the direction of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home of Hazlehurst.
