Name: Vera Hand Roberts
Vera Hand Roberts, age 78, Hazlehurst died Wednesday, October 7, 2009.
Mrs. Roberts was born August 6, 1931 to the late Ernest Hand & the late Georgia Viola Stone Hand. She was a home maker and formerly employed as a Sales Clerk for B. C. Moore’s and a Secretary for Farm Bureau Insurance Company. She and her husband of 59 years, the late William Austin Roberts, leave behind a legacy of love for the Lord, their family, and their fellowman. Their love for each other was a shining example for all who knew them.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Greg Lovett of Hazlehurst; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Don and Lorna Roberts of Opelika, Alabama and Pastor Gary and Janet Roberts of Hazlehurst; brother, Wilbur Hand of Callahan, Florida; Ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a special friend, Pam Anderson Davis.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Bridgeford Church of God with Dr. Don Roberts and Rev. Max Newham officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
